I honestly don’t know where to start. The staff that are here are AWESOME. People have their own opinion on ABA Therapy. I will be the first to say that it definitely depends on the child and the staff. My child benefited from ABA with the help of his team.
My son went to Caravel for a year I believe it was. He started when he was 2 and he just turned 3 this past November. He is non verbal. He just recently stopped going because I put him in Pre K. He is 3 yrs old and he hit a stand still and I felt putting him in Pre K was the next step. Every child is different and learn at their own pace. My baby is very smart and catches on to things very quickly. I just felt him being in a school setting and environment, he would progress even more. During his time at Caravel he learned a lot. Before he started he wasn’t aware of his surroundings. Didn’t acknowledge there were other people that existed. Didn’t play with other kids. Didn’t know how. He didn’t know his colors, didn’t have any social skills. He even learned how to transition. My baby can sort his colors, loves doing puzzles, and he loves people. Loves trying to play with other kids. He is still learning how to play but he acknowledges other kids, runs next to them and really tries to interacts with them. He moved from the Davenport location to the Bettendorf location. We thought it was going to be really bad for him but he adjusted so well. It took a few weeks but he adjusted and he was fine. Transitioning from Caravel to Pre K he did so well too. We love his teacher and classroom. He was napping the first day at Pre K. He is progressing so well there. I’m glad I made the decision to put him ABA therapy and now Pre K
Caravel prepared my son for school. They set him up for success. I am really grateful for Kristin, Alexis and the team. Having weekly meetings were very helpful. We talked about his progress every week and how he was doing overall. That is what also helped me with making the section for him to transition into Pre K. The staff there are very helpful and listens to your concerns. The ability to text and communicate was awesome too. I was able to check on him and that soothed me on the days I would worry about him. They are very accommodating and works with your schedule. Kristen and Alexis knows the children and goes above and beyond to help the children to learn and cope with the things they need help with coping. I could go on and on about them and how much they helped my son. But I will end it here because I’m getting a little teary eyed. Really though, I enjoyed our time together and the success they set my son up for. He is doing awesome and I recommend Caravel for ABA for anybody that is looking for a great, caring place for their little one.
Thank you Ms. Kristin, Ms. Alexis and the team for everything!
