I was a parent searching for help, but I was also a bit nervous. One tour of the facility and my son immediately communicated his desire to go, and we felt so much peace. We sent our child to Caravel instead of 4K because we wanted him to develop the skills he’d need to be functional in the classroom. Not only did he learn to manage emotions, follow directions, conversation and social skills, transition to different activities, and develop tolerance to things he didn’t prefer, he had fun. The staff were so honoring to him and his personality! His curiosity, self-esteem, and sense of joy were cultivated. We always felt he was treated with dignity and respect. As parents, we were able to communicate concerns about skills he needed and see them addressed. We also received many helpful strategies to use at home or in the community. Our child’s time at Caravel made all the difference in his ability to be successful at school, our home and with his siblings, and within the community. He blossomed at Caravel, and we are truly grateful to all the amazing staff who dedicated their time and resources to him.
