Our clinicians, therapists, and care coordinators work closely with parents to create individualized ABA therapy plans, provide ongoing guidance, and celebrate every milestone together.

Jordyn has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2017. She
graduated with a bachelor of science in genetics from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2017
and a master’s degree in behavior analysis from Florida Institute of Technology in 2021. With
extensive experience working with children ages 3–10, Jordyn has specialized in enhancing
functional communication across various modalities, including vocal speech, PECS, and AAC.
She is particularly focused on fostering independence and tolerance in essential health and
safety skills, such as tooth brushing, haircuts, and doctor visits. Jordyn is deeply committed to
using assent-based practices and skill-based interventions to teach children adaptive daily living
skills and other socially significant behaviors that promote overall well-being and
independence.

Stephanie has worked in intensive in-home autism programs since 1997. She holds a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, with an emphasis in autism, from Ball State University. In Stephanie’s many years of experience, she has provided direct therapy, managed treatment teams, and developed and implemented treatment plans for children ages 2 to 14 with skills and challenges across the spectrum. She strives to provide individualized treatment, focusing on a child’s strengths to help them reach their fullest potential.

Sarah has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2018. She graduated with a bachelor of science in rehabilitation psychology from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2018 and earned her master’s degree in ABA with an emphasis on autism spectrum disability (ASD) from Ball State University in 2021. Sarah began her career as a behavior technician and has focused on early intervention with children ages 2–5, though she has worked with children up to age 16. She has experience implementing PECs and using AAC devices and currently focuses on promoting and reinforcing early communicative attempts by kids who are just starting to develop this skill. Sarah is passionate about improving functional life skills, increasing communication, and making a difference for every family and every child that she works with.

Anne has been working in the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) since 2020. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Occidental College in 2020 and earned her master’s degree in ABA from Ball State University in 2024. Across her ABA career, Anne has focused on early intervention with children ages 2–9. She is passionate about teaching children effective communication skills, both verbally and using alternative communication, to better express their wants and needs. Her work centers on promoting functional living skills and fostering independence, all aimed at helping children thrive and reach their full potential.

My son recently completed 3.5 years of ABA therapy at Caravel. It’s hard to put into words how life changing his time there was for ALL of us. From our first meeting with Stephanie (BCBA and Lead Clinician) I knew we were making the right decision. She consistently laid out an ever evolving, yet clear and concise treatment plan. The knowledge I gained, as a parent, during our regular meetings has proven to be invaluable. The work our entire family put in was/is just as important as the work my son had to put in everyday.

Another great thing about Caravel is the fact that they take Forward health and not just solely private insurance- a rarity these days. ABA therapy is all about consistency, and while Caravel is very flexible and understanding of illness or inclement weather (for example), they are prudent in stressing the importance maintaining your child’s schedule. That was something that I valued greatly. They were also so communicative and made it as easy as possible to call or text regarding absences, being late, scheduling meetings, or even just answering questions.

My son was there from the age of 2.5 – 6 years old working with Stephanie and a number of other amazing and memorable therapists like Ally, David, Anne and countless others that have impacted our lives so greatly. Nikki, the director there, also played an instrumental role. During the last year or so of therapy Stephanie even tried to model his treatment plan and surroundings so that it would somewhat mirror what school would be like. She introduced group activities and the type of structure that he would have to get used to upon starting in “mainstream” school. My son started kindergarten in the fall and he is absolutely thriving. He’s making friends and he’s the best reader in his class. I only wish they could all see how wonderful he’s doing!

It’s hard to imagine what our lives would look like had we not spent those crucial years immersing ourselves in my son’s treatment. Prior to beginning treatment, a diagnostic evaluation is required. Additional testing is based on individual need and is only used if the testing will help us to design a program or treatment. In general, testing is used to help diagnose disorders and determine levels of intellectual functioning, language ability or adaptive skills. Caravel provides diagnostic evaluations or if you have one from another professional source, that can usually also be used. Testing can also be helpful to chart the effectiveness of therapy.

An evaluation and any diagnostic testing will be billed to insurance (and/or Medicaid where permissible). Testing may be a part of the initial assessment or follow-up assessment. Please check with your insurance company. Typically, your family would be responsible for a potential deductible and/or co-pay. In some states, if you have Medicaid there would be no charge for the assessment beyond what is reimbursed by Medicaid. Any questions regarding financial responsibility may be discussed prior to an appointment with our billing staff. If testing would pose a financial hardship for the family, this should be discussed with billing. We work with parents/guardians to meet the needs of their individual case. Expenses can be spread over time.

Therapy treatment typically takes place in a local Caravel clinic. Under limited and clinically appropriate circumstances, we recommend that some children receive therapy in a home-based setting.

ABA therapy programs are wide-ranging and covers all areas in which your child needs to be successful. Goals are created and broken down into small steps. The steps are then organized into a logical order and taught one small step at a time. Areas may include communication, behavioral, functional and social skills.

Research shows that the greater the amount of hours, the better the outcome for children with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Children with an autism characteristically do not learn naturally throughout their days like typically developing children do. Learning is a full-time job for children that typically occurs without being noticed. Children with an autism need to be taught to learn. This means many hours of practicing these skills. Parent/guardian training and involvement is also an essential part of a successful ABA program. Tools and techniques of ABA should be incorporated into daily life. The amount of ABA therapy needed will depend on a variety of factors to be determined in the diagnostic evaluation.

Parent/guardians are trained to do individual therapy with their child. We recommend that parent/guardians engage their child in a few hours of therapy a week to be familiar with what their child is learning. Parent/guardians are encouraged to join team meetings and training provided by clinic staff or outside professionals.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is data-driven, so your clinical team will consistently record data and write session notes during each therapy session, documenting your child’s responses using our proprietary computerized data system.

Our clinicians often work closely with other professionals because we realize that different experts can add valuable insight into treatment. If suggestions can be added to a treatment plan without crossing ethical or professional boundaries, we will bring these suggestions into therapy.
