EAU CLAIRE (WQOW) – The Chippewa Valley community will gather at Carson Park for National Night Out in just over a week. The annual event gives residents the opportunity to connect with local first responders including law enforcement agencies, fire departments and emergency medical services.
The event draws many sponsors who use it as an opportunity to connect with the community. One first-time sponsor this year is Caravel Autism Health.
“Our children, just like any children really need to learn safety rules and safety boundaries. We work on those everyday and I thought this was a really cool way to partner with others in the community that work on safety,” said Carly Burish from Caravel Autism Health.
Similar to previous years, National Night Out will have food, games and the popular bike raffle. Ben Hundt of the Eau Claire Police Department says first responders will have their vehicles available for families to explore. The event is Tuesday, Aug. 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Carson Park. It’s free to attend.
