DUBUQUE, Iowa (KWWL) — A new therapy center for children with autism is off to a successful start in Dubuque.

Caravel Autism Health opened their new clinic in Dubuque in August. Currently, seven children are being served at the facility.

The new facility provides applied behavior analysis treatment along with other evaluations. The center is filled with brightly-colored and sensory-friendly spaces. Therapists work one-on-one with children to help them develop new skills.

Hannah Bechen is the Clinic Director and Lead Behavior Analyst.

Bechen told KWWL, “It’s been wonderful with lots of interest in the community. Unfortunately, this area — there’s been a lack of access to both diagnostic services as well as treatment.”

The center primarily serves children between the ages of 2-5. However, they also have openings for elementary school-aged children.
