ASD has pervasive impact on children and their families. According to the Center for Disease Control (CDC) statistics, 1 in 68 children is diagnosed with ASD. Dr. Nan Huai noted: “Over the past 30 years, research has repeatedly shown that early intensive ABA-based therapy significantly improves the outcome of individuals with ASD. It is important that children with ASD are identified early and receive intensive intervention to maximize the effects of therapy. At Caravel, we provide the continuum of services from diagnosis to individualized therapy and family support. Caravel has already been serving the northern and southwestern suburbs of Chicago (through offices in Deerfield, Schaumburg, and Naperville) with our experienced and dedicated team of clinicians. Our new clinic in the City of Chicago will enable us to provide families with high quality diagnostic service and much needed evidence-based intervention in a timely fashion.”

Dr. Nan Huai has extensive experience working with children in school, home, clinic, community, and research settings. Dr. Nan began working with children on the autism spectrum in 2003 while completing her doctoral degree at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has since worked with hundreds of children and families throughout the process of early diagnosis and therapy. She is passionate about the power of ABA in changing children and families’ lives for the better.

Prior to joining Caravel, Dr. Nan had been an assistant professor of psychology at University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. She was a Licensed Psychologist at the prestigious Waisman Center Autism and Developmental Disabilities Clinic, with joint clinical and research appointments.
